The Labonté project involves the complete and eco-friendly renovation of a "veteran" style home in Longueuil. In addition to replacing the concrete block foundations and several exterior walls, the house underwent a reorganization across three levels, an expansion in the backyard, and a complete overhaul of the envelope, following the principles of Passive House design.

The space is organized around a central volume, which includes the staircase, the secondary bathroom, and the entryway closet. The linear kitchen is positioned between the exterior wall and the central volume, while the living and dining areas occupy the bright extension, located two steps below. The integrated furniture, simple and contrasting, helps structure the spaces.

The master suite occupies the attic of the house. Open plan, its bathroom is illuminated by a large skylight facing south.

The stucco and white aluminum panels used for the exterior cladding are simple and inspired by the materials originally used in the construction of these workers' homes. The asphalt shingle roof has been replaced with a metal roof. The large Passive House-certified windows, facing directly south, provide ample natural light and passive heating throughout the year.

The project followed an integrated design process and was built by Modulor, a sister company of L'Abri, using a design-build approach.
